Welcome Students and Parents!
Ms. Heather Seaton with her boys, Schyler and Kurt.
Shelbyville High School is where I graduated and where I took my first computer and business class! I went on to earn my associate's degree at Lake Land College in 1994. Along the way, I decided I would definitely like to go into business, and pursued at degree at Eastern Illinois University. In December 1997, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in business, minored in economics, and received my teacher's certification. During the fall of my senior year, I student taught at Stewardson-Strasburg under the watchful eye of Mark Washburg, where I was responsible for a wide assortment of classes. Since then, I have continued my education becoming endorsed to teach cooperative education.
Now in my twelvth year at PCHS, I have challenged myself with a full range of responsibilities . Currently, I am Arena yearbook sponsor, senior co-sponsor, and National Honor Society co-sponsor. My duties at work include daily lunch duty, assisting to update the Activity Calendar, coordinating the production of the fall and winter sports programs, and graduation programs.
The courses I currently teach are consumer economics, cooperative education, entrepreneurship, foundations of teaching and Web Design I and II. I have always loved teaching Paris students. My wish for all my students is to be able to find a job they "get" to go to everyday, instead of a job they "have" to go to. I consider myself blessed to have the job that I do.
Home is in Charleston, IL where my two boys and I have lived since December 1997. My little boy, Kurt, is in seventh grade at Charleston Middle School and my older son is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. We spend our time at Boy Scouts, our community pool, and football!
Please feel free to contact me when you have questions. I would love to exchange ideas!
